Not appreciative of what the government has done; 100,000 first time voters are force to be reckoned with

The number of voters below the age of 35 has grown to about one third of the more than 2.3 million people on the Register of Electors. Some 100,000 of them ? about 5 per cent of the total electorate ? are first time voters. Assistant Professor Eugene Tan said: ?Compared to their parents, the younger generation is relatively less appreciative of what the government has done for them.?
