Observers credit Workers' Party for its strategy of focussing only on the GRCs in the east

Based on the current electoral map, SMU Asst Prof Eugene Tan says the Workers' Party has the best strategy. It has been working in Aljunied and East Coast GRCs and in Hougang, Joo Chiat and Nee Soon East SMCs. He points out that they have chosen largely to work in areas adjoining one another which makes it easier for them to deploy their potential candidates. Prof Tan says even if the electoral boundaries are redrawn, they will still be able to retain the kind of influence they have been building up in the area.
