Opposition parties believe Worker's Party visit to meet Chiam is to plan election strategy

Observers say Worker's Party's Secretary's visit to Chiam See Tong while he was making his rounds with residents could be the start of a series of negotiations among the opposition parties. SMU Asst Prof Eugene Tan says if an informal alliance is agreed upon by Workers' Party, Singapore People's Party and Reform Party, they will have a greater bargaining power and can avoid three-cornered fights.
