New SMU head's bold vision

Professor Howard Hunter, the third president of SMU, presented his successor, Professor Arnoud De Meyer with the Presidential Chain of Office in a symbolic ceremony during SMU's Convocation last evening to formally enrol this year's batch of 1,700 freshmen. The incoming president takes office on Sept 1 and wants the university to be a pioneer in inter-disciplinary research.
