Keeping God in place

Assistant Professor Eugene Tan says that it would be futile to identify and draw a firm line between the religious and the secular. More meaningful, and urgent, is the need to develop common values and self-enforcing norms, so that whether or not one sees the secular and sacred as an invisible realm, they help prevent unnecessary strains to the social fabric.
