Mother Tongue policy should adjust to the changing environment

Commenting on the clarifications by the Prime Minister on the Mother Tongue policy, SMU Assistant Law Professor Eugene Tan says for the authorities to emphasise the importance of the Mother Tongue and the decision not to reduce the weightage of this subject in the PSLE shows to a certain extent that the government is responding to the unhappiness among the people.
