Investors are willing to pay a premium for companies with good corporate governance, a study by the Singapore Management University has confirmed. This study ranks Singapore Telecommunications, SMRT, Singapore Exchange, SATS and Cerebos Pacific among the top five. How well companies score is found to correlate with their price-to-asset value (Tobin's Q), said Associate Professor Jeremy Goh of the Sim Kee Boon Institute for Financial Economics (SKBI) at SMU.
