British film-maker Havana Marking talks about the making of her much lauded documentary, Afghan Star, which tracks the lives of the small group of finalists for a popular singing contest in Afghanistan, and how their lives changed during and after the finals and the impact of the show on society. The film was screened as part of the SMU Film Festival, where Marking also gave a talk and took part in a Q&A after the screening.
