Recession may affect birth rates

Assistant Professor Hoon Chang Yau commented that even though the job market has seen recovery towards the end of 2009, the situation for 2010 remains uncertain. Younger couples are considering factors such as higher costs of living, ageing population and competition from foreign talent ? all of which impact their desires to have children.
