In a bid to create a conducive environment for start-ups, Singapore on Thursday opened the Institute of Innovation and Entrepreneurship (IIE). Singapore's Minister of State for Trade and Industry and Manpower Lee Yi Shyan, in declaring the institute open at the Singapore Management University, said Singapore's next phase of economic development will have to be driven by knowledge and innovation.
