Professor David Smith, Programme Director for the Juris Doctor (JD) programme at SMU's School of Law said that the JD programme will make it easier for students to do exchange programmes with countries that have JD programmes, or gain admission to the bar in certain countries that require a JD degree as a prerequisite.
