Engineering with design the focus of fourth varsity
SMU's current annual enrolment of 1,500, will rise to 2,000 by 2015, and a small liberal arts college affiliated to the university will be set up in the next few years. The fourth publicly funded university will marry disciplines in design, engineering and business, and enrol up to 3,000 students each year.
