SMU is pleased to announce that Ms Parnsiree Amatayakul has been appointed as a member of the SMU Board of Trustees.
Khun Parnsiree brings extensive leadership experience from both multinational corporations and prominent Thai enterprises. Formerly the Managing Director of IBM Thailand, she has held senior roles across the technology and business sectors, including serving as General Manager for IBM ASEAN’s Enterprise and Commercial Sales.
Currently, she contributes her expertise as an Independent Director on the boards of several leading companies, such as Thai Wah Public Company Limited, Siam Cement Public Company Limited, Bangkok Bank Public Company Limited, Thai Union Group Public Company Limited, and Central Pattana Public Company Limited. In these roles, she actively shapes corporate governance, sustainability, and strategic direction in these companies.
Her academic credentials include a Master of Business Administration from UCLA’s Anderson School of Management, USA, and a Bachelor of Business Administration from Chulalongkorn University, Thailand. She is also a graduate of the Directors Certification Program at the Thai Institute of Directors Association, underscoring her commitment to governance excellence.
With a career spanning technology innovation and corporate stewardship, Khun Parnsiree brings a global perspective and a strong focus on sustainability and strategic growth to the Board of Trustees.
At the same time, SMU extends its deepest gratitude to Mr Panote Sirivadhanabhakdi, who stepped down from the Board of Trustees on 11 January 2026. Khun Panote has been an instrumental member of the Board since joining on 1 May 2017, contributing his wealth of experience and dedication for nearly nine years. He will remain a key member of SMU’s International Advisory Council in Thailand, from where he will no doubt continue his strong support of SMU’s efforts in Thailand. SMU thanks him for his continuing contributions to the University’s growth and success.
