SMU Academy (SMUA) has partnered with all five polytechnics and the Institute of Technical Education (ITE) to help their post-diploma and ITE diploma holders to upskill, allowing post-poly graduates to receive module exemptions for relevant prior learning and work experience, and enabling ITE diploma holders to have their experience considered for higher-degree applications. SMU President Professor Lily Kong highlighted the need for proactive learning, noting that institutions should work more closely to create seamless pathways across all stages of education. Jack Lim, Executive Director of SMUA, explained that the partnership is a game-changer in adult education, creating new models of learning continuity in partnership with polytechnics and ITE.
