SMU student Lim En Jie took part in a meaningful project interviewing seniors for the cookbook, titled Connecting Generations, which showcases family recipes and life stories. Through his interviews, En Jie deepened his understanding of local culture and history while forming connections with the elderly participants. He was particularly moved by the seniors' eagerness to share their recipes and personal stories, noting that they may simply want someone to talk to as their children and grandchildren have grown up. Despite facing challenges in translating dialect terms, En Jie remained committed to preserving the authenticity of the seniors' voices. The cookbook was launched by St Luke’s ElderCare on 1 October, in conjunction with the International Day of Older Persons.
