SMU student Raeka Ee – who is also a recipient of the Singapore Police Force scholarship – wanted to play football in primary school, but she never got the chance as it was not offered as a co-curricular activity. She jumped at the opportunity when she enrolled in SMU in September 2022. A few months later, she joined Mattar Sailors, who play in the second-tier Women’s National League. She is now a national footballer, and shared that the transition from netball to football has not been too challenging.
