SMU alumnus Aloysius Sng, Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Refash, a second-hand fashion retailer discussed his journey from starting as a clothing wholesaler to successfully navigating the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic. Refash was born from his observation of unused clothing in his girlfriend's closet, sparking the idea to create a convenient platform for second-hand clothes. Carousell's acquisition of Refash has provided an opportunity for overseas expansion including entering the Hong Kong market in early 2024.
