In a commentary, SMU Associate Professor of Law Eugene Tan noted that past Budgets since 2006 have attempted to tilt the balance in favour of less well-off Singaporeans, and expressed his hope for Budget 2022 to mark a definitive shift towards governance and policies having a clear-eyed focus on equitable and inclusive outcomes.
