Ms Norullayaley Binte Mohd Ikbal, who graduated from SMU with a Bachelor of Social Science in Psychology and Public Policy & Public Management, Cum Laude, is the eldest among seven siblings. She said her parents are proud of her success. "My parents have never pressured me about going to university. It is something that I want," she said in an interview. She said that she is the nerd of the family and they often remind her of it. She is currently working as a cyber security specialist at Govtech and said that it was not easy to get the job and was difficult initially considering her background was not relevant to the post. She said she chose to study at SMU because of the pedagogy and learning style and appreciates the interactive classes between teachers and students, with active discussions and many more. The possibility of taking a second major within and across faculties was also a contributing factor.
