SMU launches Resilience Framework to improve students' mental wellbeing

As the topic of mental wellness comes under increasing scrutiny amid the pandemic, SMU has launched a new framework to strengthen emotional resilience, and improve the mental wellbeing of students. The SMU Resilience Framework was announced yesterday during the opening ceremony of its annual Mental Health Awareness Week (MHAW) which takes place from 18 to 22 October 2021. The University aims to strengthen mental resilience through a three-pronged approach of Education, Encouragement, and Experiences. SMU Provost Professor Timothy Clark shared in his virtual address that the University hopes to build students’ capability and empower them to make choices towards a more fulfilling life, even when faced with difficult and stressful situations.
