Polytechnic student Muhammad Razeef overcome the odds with a SMU Bachelor's Degree

Muhammad Razeef Bin Mohd Yatim Marican who is graduating with a Bachelor of Business Management, majoring in Operation Management, shared how he overcame the odds to complete his studies. His journey has been challenging as he wanted to live independently and did not want to burden his father, a sole-breadwinner for the family of six. He gave tuition and was an assistant teacher in a school because he wanted to pay for his own expenses including school fees. Balancing his time was difficult as he did not want it to affect his academic results so that he can qualify for scholarships. He received quite a number of scholarships during his time at SMU - Professor Tan Teck Meng Endeavour Award, Pilot Pen Community Champion Award and Ruth Chiang Outstanding Intern of the Year.
