In a commentary, SMU Chairman and Executive Chairman of Banyan Tree Holdings Mr Ho Kwon Ping discussed the future of liberal democracy as well as the challenge posed by globalisation. He opined that Singaporeans should remember that the kind of political system they live under is less important than the quality of governance, as the real challenge is whether policies can adapt and remain effective. Mr Ho cited credibility, accountability and incorruptibility as the three most important elements of good governance.
