SMU alumnus Alan Phua, is the co-founder and chief executive of Alchemy Foodtech, whose products lower the glycaemic index of foods such as white rice and bread. Their company is one of the many startups that have benefitted from Enterprise Singapore’s (ESG) assistance in expanding to new markets such as China. The company is currently working with ESG Centres in Beijing and Shanghai to navigate the complex legal and regulatory environment of the world's second-largest economy.
