After graduation, SMU alumna Huang Jia Ling practised as a lawyer for five years before she decided to leave the legal sector and pursue a degree in medicine. During her stint as a lawyer, she was primarily involved in representing doctors who were being sued for malpractice. Last year, she enrolled into the Duke-NUS Medical School to pursue her passion and interest in the medical field.
