Singles ratio in Singapore on the rise

Commenting on the sustained decline in overall fertility rate, SMU Dean of Students and Professor of Sociology (Practice) Paulin Straughan pointed out that the government has already launched various policies that are pro-family, and that the next step would be to understand in-depth the reasons why young Singaporeans choose to remain single. She explained that if these individuals have shown to spend more time on their work, then perhaps the government should consider organising more social events within their work areas, to enable the singles to expand their social circles.
