SMU student learns how way of life affects way of thinking

Third-year SMU Accountancy and Business Management student Janice Chiang spent two months helping villages to set up bamboo furniture business in order to be self-sufficient. She interned for two months last year at the Coastal Bamboo & Coir Development Company, a start-up that helps African villages become self-sufficient by working with them to produce goods which are sold in other markets.
