An article written by SMU Professor of Organisational Behaviour & Human Resources (Education) Thomas Menkhoff and Jonas Schorr, a strategic and digital-communications professional, said a study trip to Germany with 25 SMU undergraduates last month had been fruitful. The trip themed “Living in Smart Cities: Innovation, Sustainability and Start-ups in Germany” provided insights into the many commonalities between Singapore and Germany. These include the Smart Nation strategy that both countries have adopted and their desire to promote innovation and digitalisation of services. Germany’s desire to pursue zero waste and reduce pollution through innovative tech and measures is also noteworthy and serves as an example for Singapore to emulate.
