SMU to organise more events to help Singaporeans understand neighbouring countries

In an interview with the media at the launch of the book ‘The Art of Leadership’, SMU Chairman Ho Kwon Ping said that SMU plans to organise more activities in future to promote understanding of young Singaporeans of the culture and politics of ASEAN countries. This includes inviting ASEAN leaders to speak at the Ho Rih Hwa Leadership in Asia Public Lecture Series when they visit Singapore. The limited edition coffee table book was officially launched by former President of Singapore and SMU’s Honorary Patron Dr Tony Tan yesterday. The lectures and the book serve to consolidate SMU’s thought leadership role. Edited by Mr Ho and SMU President Professor Arnoud De Meyer, the book is a compilation of lectures by scholars, political and business leaders from 14 countries, including the late Mr Lee Kuan Yew, Daw Aung San Suu Kyi of Myanmar and former United Nations Secretary-General Mr Ban Ki-Moon.
