A Malay/Muslim student, Muhammad Hafiz Kasman, is among SMU graduates who excelled this year. He will be receiving his Summa Cum Laude (With Highest Distinction) degree, which is the equivalent of First Class honours. Mr Hafiz, a Business Management student, is active doing community work in and out of the country because he believes knowledge can be acquired and disseminated in many ways. He also set-up a mentoring programme called CoffeeChats to help in professional development for new students through networking sessions with fellow seniors. Compared to his friends who have gone abroad for holidays after their studies, Hafiz spent two months working with a new financial technology company in Jakarta because of his interest to deepen his understanding of the economic condition in Jakarta. Because of his excellent leadership quality outside the classroom, he was awarded the CIRCLE award at today's convocation. He will start work as a management consultant at Oliver Wyman in September.
