Beat the queues with WhyQ

Editors, publishers and policymakers will discuss concrete ways to counter the spread of fake news and improve media literacy at a conference to be held this month. The event, titled "Keep It Real: Truth And Trust In The Media", is organised by The Straits Times and the World Association of Newspapers and News Publishers (Wan-Ifra), in partnership with SMU and other organisations. This event will feature practical fact-checking projects from Asia and around the world and discuss what Internet companies, journalism schools, government agencies and independent organisations are doing to improve media literacy. The June 19-20 event will be held at SMU’s new School of Law Building. Minister for Home Affairs and Law K. Shanmugam will give the opening address.
