Professor Annie Koh, Vice President, SMU Office of Business Development, and Juliana Koh, SMU Researcher, contributed an article which suggests that when we think about future skills, we need to consider the uniqueness of the 10 countries within ASEAN. They offered insights into what the digital revolution means for future skills and argued that ASEAN’s young, diverse and digitally savvy population is uniquely placed to benefit from the digital transformation. However, ASEAN’s ability to participate and thrive in the new era of a digital economy and trade depends on developing three clusters of skill sets: life skills and values, cross-cultural skills and deep domain learning.
