SMU Dean of Post Graduate Professional Programmes Associate Professor Themin Suwardy was featured in a Sunday Times Postgraduate Studies Special. He pointed out that postgraduate programmes can help to accelerate career moves, increase career options and aid progression to lateral or more specialised roles. He advised students to determine clearer goals from the onset, and define their rationale and objectives for pursuing postgraduate education.
Associate Prof Suwardy also highlighted SMU’s strengths, including its innovative and transformative education approach, rigorous and highly interactive pedagogy, small class sizes, large pool of diverse and international faculty for teaching and research, as well as world-class city campus and facilities. The masters’ programmes at SMU are designed through extensive consultations with industry experts and leaders, many of whom deliver parts of the programmes as advisory board members, guest lecturers or speakers, or take the role of employers and mentors to students.
