At the launch of SMU Muslim Society’s Islamic Awareness Week on Monday, students were introduced to the basics of the religion and treated with a buffet spread on campus. The one-week programme, which runs until August 28, will also be offering a series of talks including a sharing session by converts from multi-racial backgrounds and a recreational activity called Archery Tag. SMU's fourth-year political science undergraduate Ho Wee Seng welcomed the efforts, saying that religion plays an important role in the community and events like this contribute to better understanding and harmonious living among people of various races and religions.
