In a special feature, SMU Associate Professor of Law Eugene Tan shared his research interests. He studies the impact of public and private sector policies on Singapore’s society, stating that current multiracial policies may soon be out of date due to changing social realities, arguing for more effort to be devoted to strengthening the Singaporean national identity instead. He is currently working on new studies of multiculturalism and on a book examining the laws and policies that govern race, language and religion in Singapore.
