SMU Behavioural Sciences Institute Director Professor David Chan was quoted on his commentary published in the Straits Times which discussed the emotional responses to the death of Mr Lee Kuan Yew. Prof Chan wrote that both psychological and emotional commitment developed by the beliefs and experiences of Singaporeans motivated the reaction.
