Commenting on the amount of freedom currently present in Singapore, SMU final-year Economics student Nicholas Goh felt that this was acceptable. He added: “If people speak out too much, then you have a case like the United States, where the government spends so much time fighting the opposition and people go against the government for the sake of going against the government, not because the policy is wrong.”
