Budget: More needed for sandwiched class

In a joint commentary, SMU Associate Professor of Law Eugene Tan suggested three ways to help the sandwiched-class Singaporeans in the upcoming Golden Jubilee Year Budget. They include embarking on a long-term commitment to provide more public spending on pre-school education and childcare, providing grants and subsidies rather than just tax reliefs, and emphatically promoting social mobility to tackle inequality.
