SMU Associate Professor of Information Systems Zheng Baihua’s research involves working on practical applications of database management to develop algorithms that help users find data quickly. Associate Prof Zheng predicted that more and more people will in the near future, realise the potential of integrating different types of social media. She also hopes that technology barriers will come down for senior citizens, who are currently excluded from the benefits of pervasive computing as they are not adept at using mobile apps.
