After a three-year hiatus, SMU Komunitas Indonesia brought back the batik workshop on 5 September 2014. The two-hour workshop welcomed both SMU students and members of the public. During the workshop, participants could draw the batik pattern by tracing a provided pattern or by sketching their own designs. The participants also got the rare opportunity to play with a canting, a special tool used to apply melted wax to the patterns drawn on the fabric.
