On “next generation” (NextGen) leaders, SMU Vice President (Business Development and External Relations) and Business Families Institute Academic Director, Associate Professor Annie Koh said that the concept of stewardship is key and should be impressed upon one’s children. To strengthen family bonds and a sense of shared culture and history, she said that it is powerful to tell “family stories”. On how to foster entrepreneurship among children who actually need not work at all, Associate Prof Koh suggested that one way is to empower the younger generation; let them make some decisions that may well fail.
