Effective corporate governance employs multiple strategies, study says

SMU Assistant Professor of Strategic Management Abhijith G. Acharya is one of the co-authors of the research article "Substitutes or Complements? A Configurational Examination of Corporate Governance Mechanisms" which will be published in the forthcoming Academy of Management Journal. The research found that the most effective corporate governance occurs when a mix of complementary mechanisms that include CEO incentive alignment and both internal and external monitoring mechanisms are present.
