SMU Behavioural Sciences Institute Director Professor David Chan explained the design, results and implications of a scientific experiment on the Stereotype Threat Effect. The experiment was conducted in a driving test situation to examine how the activation of a negative stereotype may influence one's performance on a task and belief in the truth of the stereotype.
