Backgrounder: SMU Global Forum Series

As a key national university in Singapore, SMU aims to contribute to the Singapore-China bilateral co-operations by nurturing China-ready and bicultural graduates and engaging in China-related top-notch research projects. Over the past year, SMU has established a number of student exchanges, collaborative education programmes and research projects with top Chinese universities. SMU launched its China Forum which brought together political, business and academic leaders in Singapore on 13 Nov 2013. The forum addressed the latest political, economic and social trends taking place in China during the time of economic transition. SMU Global Forum Series is a collaborative initiative between SMU and leading Chinese universities to provide a high-level dialogue platform for leaders from business, government and the wider community with academia on the key challenges and opportunities in China’s future development as well as to share Singapore’s experiences in managing its own transformation into one of the world’s most successful economies.
