SMU undergraduate Liyana Wong Yoke Lin is a participant of the University’s Office of Global Learning (OGL) which helps students familiarise themselves with the cultures and traditions of other countries through learning journeys. Liyana and her fellow students are also active in taking foreign SMU students around Singapore to sample local dishes through the International Food Trail activity organised by SMU Roots, a club aimed at promoting harmony between foreign and local students. In return, the foreign students have approached OGL SMU to organise similar cultural familiarity trips to their own countries such as China for the benefit of local students.
