'Shouldn't we be above public shaming?'

On the dispute between Madam Tan and a cyclist on Whitley Road, Academic Director of SMU Executive Development Dr Michael Netzley said that both of them had over-reacted. In situations where offences or criminal acts are involved, it is best to let the authorities handle them, Dr Netzley said. He warned that public shaming could “start to have more in common with revenge than they do with justice”.
