Commenting on the Pioneer Generation Package, SMU Associate Professor of Law Eugene Tan noted that while it was a timely gesture, the package could have gone beyond healthcare needs. “It would have been good to use the package to enable [those in the pioneer generation] to get more out of their retirement, pick up a new skill or keep their minds active.”
