Community Justice Centre helped close to 6,000 people last year

SMU and NUS law students are acting as legal facilitators at the Community Justice Centre, explaining English legal terms to those that do not understand them. They are stationed at Court No. 23 at the Subordinate Courts, and the Family Court. Among them is SMU student Weng Xin Ru. She finds time to be a volunteer at the CJC once a week. Weng said that the cases she has seen so far include those filing divorce proceedings who find themselves helpless when in court.
