SMU and the Society for the Physically Handicapped will jointly research and promote the best ways to build a barrier-free environment, so as to help students who need such an environment to better integrate themselves. SMU also signed a memorandum of understanding with the society to enhance its efforts in this area. SMU is the first university to work with the society to research barrier-free measures. The University will also be introducing a diversity and inclusion course that will be compulsory for all students.
