Temporary law introduced to give police greater powers to maintain order in Little India

SMU Associate Professor of Law and NMP Eugene Tan said that, to his knowledge, there have not been any such temporary laws in Singapore thus far. Temporary laws are meant to address existing concerns, and are different from permanent laws. Parts of such laws may however be implemented permanently in the future depending on the situation.
