First local public-funded university to offer scholarships to retiring SAF personnel

SMU will offer more than 20 SMU Warriors Scholarships annually to regular military servicemen who are retiring or have retired to recognise their contributions to the country and support Singapore’s talent development efforts. Worth $1 million in total, the scholarships are bond-free. This is the first time a public university is offering scholarships to military retirees and the scheme will last for three years. Scholarship holders can choose to pursue one of 18 Master’s programmes offered by SMU. More options will be available as SMU plans to introduce programmes in the humanities and applied mathematics.
